Under the hood, we are expecting to see a V6 engine as standard, that should come with both gas and diesel options. It should be able to produce about 300 of horsepower.
One rumor that has been gaining a lot of traction is that the AMG version of the 2018 Mercedes CLS will feature a 3.0-liter straight six with turbocharging engine that is capable of producing around 450 of horsepower. However, this may mean that Mercedes is going to drop the V8 engine.
However, we also heard that the four-door GT concept we mentioned above is likely to incorporate a V8 engine – the twin turbo V8 that already comes with the E63 and the AMG GT.
In case you’re considering getting the AMG version of the 2018 Mercedes CLS, you will have three different trim levels to choose from – the Sport, the AMG, and the AMG S.
